How Our Amazon FBA Prep Process Works
The workflow starts when you submit a replenishment in your ASTORAGE account and ends when your cartons or pallets leave for an Amazon fulfillment center.
You submit a replenishment
SKU and quantity details: product name, SKU, FNSKU, carton and unit counts with dimensions and weight (LxWxH / lb), delivery date, and tracking numbers. Enter them manually or upload a .csv.
You ship your inventory to the warehouse
In cartons or on pallets, under the tracking numbers you gave us.
We receive and verify
We inspect the shipment, check SKU / FNSKU and quantities, and sort when two or more SKUs arrive together. Damage and discrepancies are reported to you right away.
We confirm your inventory
Your stock is posted to Inventory in your account and is ready for prep orders.
You place a prep order

How SKU sorting works at receiving
When cartons or units of different SKUs arrive mixed on the same pallets, we separate and reconcile everything by SKU first, then allocate it the way you tell us to.

Detailed Prep and Quality Checks
These checks are part of the prep order, not a separate service. Damage, shortages, and label problems get reported to you as we find them.
- SKU verification. Each unit matched to its recorded SKU, mixed inventory separated before prep.
- Barcode verification. Every FNSKU label is scanned after it goes on, to confirm it reads and matches the SKU.
- Barcode coverage. Manufacturer barcodes are covered so only one scannable code is left on the unit.
- Quantity reconciliation. Received, prepped, and shipped counts checked against your prep order.
- Inventory inspection. Visible damage, crushed packaging, and seal issues are flagged at receiving.
- Packaging checks. Poly bag sizing, suffocation warning labels, and protective packaging reviewed against spec.
- Bundle and expiration checks. Component counts and SKU combinations confirmed, expiration-date labeling checked for legibility.
- Carton and pallet checks. Contents, weight, and dimensions are recorded, carton or pallet labels correctly placed.
- Final pre-handoff check. Every shipment is reviewed once more against the prep order before carrier handoff.

How storage is calculated
Storage is billed by volume, not by carton count, so the same number of cartons can cost very different amounts depending on their size. Here is the math on 100 cartons measuring 60 × 45 × 33 cm:
