Amazon FBA Prep Services in Southern California

At our Southern California warehouse, ASTORAGE receives your inventory, inspects it, sorts it by SKU, labels it, and packs it for shipment to Amazon fulfillment centers. We handle hands-on unit-level prep along with carton- and pallet-level shipment preparation: FNSKU labeling, relabeling, barcode coverage, poly bagging, bundling and kitting, expiration-date labeling, rework, multiple-SKU carton handling, and carton or pallet preparation.

Our Riverside facility handles imported and domestically sourced inventory that needs inspection, SKU sorting, labeling, packaging, rework, or carton and pallet preparation before it ships to Amazon. We work with private-label and wholesale sellers, on one-off shipments and on recurring replenishment.

What we do

Amazon FBA Prep Services We Provide

Unit-level prep, carton preparation, and pallet preparation are consecutive stages of a single Amazon FBA prep workflow. Most shipments need several of the services below, and nothing leaves our warehouse until it meets Amazon’s requirements.

We cover every Amazon FBA prep scenario:

Single-SKU
Multiple-SKU
Unit-Level PrepFNSKU labeling, relabeling, poly bagging, bundling, expiration-date labeling
Carton PrepUnits organized into cartons, carton labels applied
Pallet PrepCartons stacked and wrapped, pallet labels applied
Amazon FCCarrier handoff

The stages run in order, and a shipment can enter or stop at any level.

Inventory Receiving, Verification & Inspection

We receive your inventory, verify the delivered quantities, sort it, match every SKU, and flag discrepancies. Unit condition, visible damage, and packaging problems are checked at the same stage.

Precision Labeling & Relabeling

We apply FNSKU labels, replace incorrect ones, cover unwanted barcodes, and confirm every label matches the right SKU.

Product and Warning Labels

We apply expiration-date labels, suffocation warnings, bundle labels, and sold-as-set labels.

Poly Bagging & Protective Packaging

We prepare eligible products with poly bags, bubble wrap, or other protective materials.

Bundling, Kitting & Multipacks

We combine products into bundles, multipacks, or sold-as-set units, then check the unit counts and SKU combinations.

Detailed Manual Prep, Repackaging & Rework

We take on the repetitive manual work that inventory with many units or SKUs demands, and we correct inventory that arrived incorrectly packed, labeled, bundled, or organized.

Carton, Pallet & Amazon-Bound Shipment Preparation

We organize units, build cartons or pallets, apply the required shipment labels, and run a final check before carrier handoff.

Removal Order Processing

We receive inventory Amazon has removed, inspect it, and prepare it for rework, storage, or forwarding.

Hazmat Support

We prep supported hazmat inventory once the product and shipment requirements are confirmed. Contact ASTORAGE to check whether your products qualify.

Contact us before your inventory ships

Some jobs cost less when your manufacturer does them — poly bagging, for example, or printing barcodes on the retail packaging. One conversation before production ships tells you what belongs at the factory and what belongs at our warehouse, and it usually brings down your cost per unit.

From receiving to Amazon

How Our Amazon FBA Prep Process Works

The workflow starts when you submit a replenishment in your ASTORAGE account and ends when your cartons or pallets leave for an Amazon fulfillment center.

You submit a replenishment

SKU and quantity details: product name, SKU, FNSKU, carton and unit counts with dimensions and weight (LxWxH / lb), delivery date, and tracking numbers. Enter them manually or upload a .csv.

You ship your inventory to the warehouse

In cartons or on pallets, under the tracking numbers you gave us.

We receive and verify

We inspect the shipment, check SKU / FNSKU and quantities, and sort when two or more SKUs arrive together. Damage and discrepancies are reported to you right away.

We confirm your inventory

Your stock is posted to Inventory in your account and is ready for prep orders.

You place a prep order

Choose the SKU, the quantity, and the prep services you need, then upload your label files: FNSKU labels for per-unit work, carton labels for carton shipments, pallet labels for pallet shipments.

We prep your inventory to Amazon’s requirements

FNSKU labeling, poly bagging, suffocation warnings, bundle labels, and carton or pallet build.

Your inventory ships to the Amazon fulfillment center

Cartons and pallets leave the warehouse based on the shipment or destination details and the target completion date you gave us, in one of the two ways below.

How SKU sorting works at receiving

When cartons or units of different SKUs arrive mixed on the same pallets, we separate and reconcile everything by SKU first, then allocate it the way you tell us to.

Detailed Prep and Quality Checks

These checks are part of the prep order, not a separate service. Damage, shortages, and label problems get reported to you as we find them.

  • SKU verification. Each unit matched to its recorded SKU, mixed inventory separated before prep.
  • Barcode verification. Every FNSKU label is scanned after it goes on, to confirm it reads and matches the SKU.
  • Barcode coverage. Manufacturer barcodes are covered so only one scannable code is left on the unit.
  • Quantity reconciliation. Received, prepped, and shipped counts checked against your prep order.
  • Inventory inspection. Visible damage, crushed packaging, and seal issues are flagged at receiving.
  • Packaging checks. Poly bag sizing, suffocation warning labels, and protective packaging reviewed against spec.
  • Bundle and expiration checks. Component counts and SKU combinations confirmed, expiration-date labeling checked for legibility.
  • Carton and pallet checks. Contents, weight, and dimensions are recorded, carton or pallet labels correctly placed.
  • Final pre-handoff check. Every shipment is reviewed once more against the prep order before carrier handoff.

Ask about hazmat before you ship

Hazmat prep and handling depend on the product, its classification, and the shipment format. Send the details and documentation ahead of time and we will confirm whether your inventory is eligible and what prep it needs.

Amazon FBA Prep Pricing

Pricing starts at the rates below and is calculated per unit, per carton, per pallet, or per cubic foot, depending on the operation. Your final number comes down to your volume and which prep operations your inventory actually needs.

ServiceUnit of calculationPrice from
StoragePer cubic foot, per month$0.65
LabelingPer unit$1.00
Bundles and setsPer set$1.00–$2.50
ForwardingPer carton$5.00
PalletizingPer pallet$50.00

How storage is calculated

Storage is billed by volume, not by carton count, so the same number of cartons can cost very different amounts depending on their size. Here is the math on 100 cartons measuring 60 × 45 × 33 cm:

Carton volume3.15 cb ft60 × 45 × 33 cm
Storage rate$0.65per cb ft, per month
Per carton$2.05per month
Cartons100
Total storage$205.00per month

Larger and recurring volumes price better

The rates above are starting points. For high volumes and steady monthly shipments we price by volume, and the per-unit and per-carton figures drop accordingly. Send us your volumes and the prep operations you need, and we will put together a rate for your case.

Where we are

Amazon FBA Prep Center in Southern California

Our facility sits at 902 Columbia Ave, Riverside, CA 92507, in the Inland Empire. The address matters for two reasons: how fast imported containers get to us, and how fast prepped shipments get to Amazon.

For imported inventory

Containers from the two largest US ports reach us in one drayage run up the SR-91 corridor, not a long-haul move.

  • Port of Long Beach: approximately 65 miles, a 1.5 hour drayage run in normal traffic
  • Port of Los Angeles: approximately 70 miles, a 1.5 hour drayage run in normal traffic
  • Container unloading, SKU sorting, and prep all happen under one roof

Close to Amazon fulfillment centers

Several of the region’s biggest Amazon fulfillment centers are a short drive away.

  • SBD1 Amazon inbound cross-dock, Bloomington, CA: approximately 8 miles
  • LGB6 Riverside, CA: approximately 12 miles
  • SNA4 Rialto, CA: approximately 14 miles
  • ONT8 Moreno Valley, CA: approximately 15 miles
  • LGB3 Eastvale, CA: approximately 17 miles
  • Daily UPS collection for cartons, carrier pickup for pallets

Mixed-SKU shipments are not a problem here

A container with a dozen SKUs across eighteen pallets, half headed to Amazon this month and half staying in storage, is a normal week here. Tell us how it arrives and how you want it split, and we will build the Amazon-bound shipment around that.
